[Nashville, TN] US guitar manufacturer Gibson is in a panic as State Department and military intel sources have discovered a Chinese plot to utilize its already proven weather balloon technology to deliver Gibson Les Paul copies to US buyers. The low-cost shipping alternative has come under fire recently by critics who claim the tactic is uncompetitive and unfair.
"This affront to international trade norms, not to mention Gibson's protected IP, cannot be allowed to stand," said Gibson media spokesperson Mark Agnesi. "These are not authentic Gibson guitars, and we intend to use every means at our disposal to prevent these guitars from coming into the country. It just isn't fair that we are down wind from China."
In a separate statement given on a shared private flight to Washington D.C. to meet with lawmakers, Gibson Brand President Cesar Gueikian said, "We at Gibson are used to destroying our own guitars with digging equipment on terra firma (that's the ground to you lower simpletons); we aren't equipped to shoot these balloons down ourselves."
Gueikian said he plans on meeting with lawmakers and the president on Monday, right after the president's afternoon nap.
I'm in the process of creating the demo for an upcoming video on a 1974 Fender Twin Reverb. This is the point where I'm editing the video and audio layers all together with green screening. The studio-captured audio is not added yet. This is just a rough video mix with the RAW camera guide audio for the drums and guitar ONLY! So this is what the drums and rhythm guitar are sounding like in the room by themselves with no close miking and no post processing (other than a bit of compression and EQ). I am actually kind of shocked how good this is sounding even though one of the camera mics (the one for the drums) is from a DJI Action Cam and the other (for the guitar) is a Panasonic camcorder mic. Usually when making this kind of demo, the raw camera mic audio acts as a guide when lining up video clips on the editing timeline and then gets deleted from the final timeline before publishing. In some cases, I will even mix in a hint of the raw camera microphones with the studio mix to give ...
